Brent Seberhagen
Brent Seberhagen began his real estate career in 2013, joining his family’s business at The Carroll Group as a Licensed Real Estate Broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. In his first year, he facilitated the largest real estate transaction in the company’s 20-year history—a residential sale at 21 East Huron. Brent continued working alongside his award-winning parents, Izetta and Jay Carroll, consistently earning accolades such as the President’s Circle and Top 4% of Producers nationally in Chicago, Florida, and Wisconsin.
Brent returned to New York City in 2018 and works alongside his wife, Candis Lai, at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New York Properties. With a focus on commercial real estate, Brent ensures his clients receive customized, strategic services that meet their unique needs. He specializes in multifamily and mixed-use, helping clients navigate the complexities of the commercial market.
In 2023, Brent and Candis expanded their portfolio by purchasing a two-bedroom condo in Chelsea. They now reside with their two-year-old daughter, Alexis, and their Sheltie, Charlie. Brent and Candis ensure that clients are always comfortably taken care of, providing personal transportation when needed.
When not working, Brent enjoys giving back to the community through volunteer work at the Food Bank for New York City and by supporting organizations like The Sunshine Kids Foundation and THON, a Penn State initiative.

Candis Lai
Candis Lai’s shift from commercial sales to residential real estate was driven by her passion for connecting with clients on a more personal level. A licensed real estate salesperson in New York, Candis focuses primarily on residential transactions, offering her clients personalized guidance in buying, selling, and renting properties. Her deep industry experience, analytical mindset, and client-first approach are hallmarks of her success.
Born in Hong Kong, Candis moved to Brooklyn at nine. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Brooklyn College and an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. Before transitioning to real estate, she spent several years in ophthalmology software sales and consulting, eventually following her true passion for real estate.
Candis and Brent married in 2022 and reside in Chelsea with their daughter, Alexis, and their Sheltie, Charlie. She continues to leverage her family’s deep experience in real estate, with Brent’s parents having over 25 years of experience in Chicago, Florida, and Wisconsin.
In her free time, Candis enjoys scuba diving. She speaks fluent Cantonese and has a working knowledge of Mandarin.
