Back-to-school season is here, and after this summer, we learned a few things ourselves!
Looking back, we probably should have enrolled Alexis in more activity-based summer programs—swimming, dance, art, or something different—instead of having her spend most of the summer in a daycare setting similar to her regular 3K routine. With families coming and going on vacation (us too), the kids’ schedules changed throughout the summer, and Alexis seemed a little “off schedule” herself. After our Cape May trip, she was completely exhausted, which made getting back into her routine even harder.
For 4K, Alexis will be returning to The Learning Experience, and we’re looking forward to getting her back into a consistent school-year routine. We’re still keeping our fingers crossed for PS 11 for Kindergarten next year.
And somehow, we’re already planning another birthday! Alexis’ birthday party will be back at Alice’s Rooftop on October 10th. Apparently, when you’re almost four, you already have a favorite NYC party venue!
We’ll also be taking her to the Gazillion Bubble Show for her birthday. After 19 years in NYC, the show is coming to an end, so we’re glad we’ll have a chance to experience it one more time.
We also made it back to one of our family favorites this summer—the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo. We love it so much that we’ll be heading back for another visit on September 12th.
Real Estate Has Been Keeping Us Busy
We’ve had a very active summer, with closings, contracts, new listings, and several buyers actively searching.
Our listing at The Royal York, W9J, officially closed at $745,000 after quite the roller-coaster ride—from an accepted offer to marketing the apartment for rent to ultimately having the prospective renter purchase it instead!
We also closed 42-19 219th Street in Bayside for $1,595,000, and our Saunders Street transaction closed smoothly without a hitch.
People watch shows like Million Dollar Listing for all the drama and excitement, but when it comes to working with us, we’d actually prefer your real estate transaction to be as boring as possible—streamlined, smooth, and easy.
Let’s save the excitement for things like Picnic en Blanc in Central Park!

We Have Buyers Looking!
We also have several serious buyers actively searching right now.
One buyer is looking for a single-family home around 221 Avenue M in Brooklyn. We have another investor actively searching for an investment property in Brooklyn, and a buyer specifically looking for a one-bedroom at The Atelier in Midtown West.
If you own—or know someone who owns—a property that could be a match, please reach out. The right property doesn’t always have to be officially on the market for us to put a deal together.
Holiday Help Wanted
A friend of ours who owns Inca Heritage is already preparing for the holiday season and hiring seasonal help.
In addition to their usual Bryant Park holiday location, they’ll also have a location inside Macy’s this year from October 30th through January 3rd.
If you—or perhaps a college student, friend, or family member—are interested in seasonal holiday work in NYC, please reach out to me or contact Inca Heritage directly. We’d be happy to make the introduction.
As always, below you’ll find our Things to Do in NYC this September. Fall is one of our favorite times in New York, and we’ve put together plenty of ideas to help you enjoy it.
Have a wonderful September!
Warmly,
Candis, Brent, Alexis & Charlie
